Pink ties me to the landscape like a silk ribbon. The sky is damask, and restless meadows are waving, like the oceans full of lupines. For me, nostalgia is sparkling like a sapphire. So bright, it blinds me.
Somewhere explores memories and passage of time through family album material and teenage snapshots. The work represents childhood and adolescence spent in the countryside by depicting a dreamlike relationship with a small municipality, which by its ordinariness distances itself and gives space to imagination and play. Somewhere reflects upon both close and distant relation to the place, and different periods of time merge together into a single entity. The work is located somewhere in between reality and fiction. It creates an imagery full of memories where the familiar and unknown meet.
